The Artist

About Me

I'm a scratchboard artist whose work explores the tension between light and shadow. Working entirely in black and white, I reveal intricate detail by scratching away layers of ink to expose the white clay beneath.

My subjects – from wildlife and nature to intimate animal portraits – are rendered with a quiet intensity that reflects both technical discipline and a deep appreciation for the natural world.

Every piece is an original, created entirely by hand. No two are alike.

Commission an Original

Commissions

I accept a limited number of commissions each year. Whether you want a portrait of a beloved pet or a piece inspired by wildlife, each commission is an original created exclusively for you.

Pet Portraits

A timeless tribute to a pet you love. Send a quality photo and I'll bring them to life in stunning black-and-white detail.

Wildlife & Nature

Majestic animals, dramatic natural scenes, or a specific species – commissions drawn from the wild world you love most.

What to Expect

Each commission begins with a conversation. I work closely with you on composition and subject before a single line is scratched.

How It Works

Process & Pricing

01

Gather Your Reference Photos

Finding a quality reference photograph is the most important step in commissioning a custom piece.

02

Initial Consultation

Send your reference images for review. We'll discuss the quality of your photos and whether they're a strong fit for a scratchboard portrait.

I reserve the right to request different images if the quality is insufficient for the level of detail my work requires.

03

Choose Your Size

Select the scratchboard size that's right for your space and budget. Size options and pricing are listed below.

04

First Payment

After your reference images are approved, you'll receive an invoice for the first 50% installment to reserve your commission slot.

05

Sit Back & Wait

Your custom scratchboard is now in progress. I handle every line by hand – quality takes time. See estimated timelines below.

06

Final Payment

Once you've approved the finished piece, an invoice for the remaining 50% will be emailed to you.

07

Shipped to You

After the final invoice is paid, your original scratchboard artwork is carefully packaged and shipped directly to you.
